I was asked to represent the Women of Color Quilters Network and the
United States at the International Quilt Festival in Yokohama, Japan in
November, 2009.
The quilts in the Journey of Hope in America: Exhibition, inspired by President Obama dissect the milestones of historic and momentous occasion in American history--the election of an African American
man as Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful nation on earth.
Over 100 quilts illustrated the phenomenal popularity and historical relevance of quilts, the quintessential icon of cultural Americana, as cultural documents of American history.

A selected group of quilts were exhibited in Yokohama at the International Quilt Show which is one of the largest quilt shows in the
world.
