Giving Back To The Community

The Sunday New York Times featured Ed Johnetta in the Best of the  Best series. Again in 2020, one of her quilts, around Black Lives  Matter, was featured in the New Times, Best of the Best series. She has received many awards for her role as an artist, community leader, including Connecticut’s most prestigious artistic award, The  Governor’s Award.

When students are exposed to a variety of works of art, they learn about the world and themselves. Children deserve to see the wide variety of possibilities in art, both in terms of art making and the artists behind the works.
